Mark Hanson Williams is a published composer and pianist residing in Baltimore.
• Current doctoral candidate in composition at Indiana University (IU) School of Music, from which he holds a masters degree; studied with Don Freund, Claude Baker, Eugene O'Brien, Fred Fox, Jeff Hass.
• Six years experience teaching undergraduate music theory at IU, including five semesters teaching the honors course.
• Piano, vocal, chamber, and electronic works performed at An Die Musik, Baltimore's premiere new music venue, this past January (2006) and in April 2005.
• Music also performed at festivals and other venues in the US, Canada (Halifax & Vancouver), Holland (Amsterdam), and France (Fontainebleau, where he won the 1999 composition prize, and later worked as composition coordinator).
• Over 20 years experience as dance pianist, mostly in New York City. In 1992, Lyra Music (New York) published his book of dance class music, "The Eight Counts".
